| Welcome to the I-25 Speedway Media Page. This page is intended to assist you in coordinating coverage of events at the I-25 Speedway. Your media representatives are Sharon Brandman, Executive Producer, and Alan Knight, Chief Editor and Broadcast Engineer of Midknight Video Productions. Please note that all media must coordinate with Midknight Video Productions prior to conducting any type of media coverage at the I-25 Speedway. This is to ensure you have the most productive visit with us and to safe guard your team while at the track. Most areas of operation will be made available to you during your visit, however there are certain areas that represent a danger to personnel and equipment. Media personnel will be required to sign a waiver of liability and will be required to wear a wrist band to gain access to the pits. Local Media: Television and Radio outlets have a clear line of sight to Cheyenne Mountain and for the most part can see into Pueblo for the purpose of microwave links. If you intend to shoot into Pueblo it is suggested that you do arrive early enough to establish your ENG shot. Currently there is no Internet access available at the speedway, so please make provisions for script transfer; we do have adequate cell phone coverage. Out of Area Media: SNG operations will not pose any problems, however the satellite you are shooting to will determine where your rig is positioned. While we will try to keep you on the asphalt, if the bird you are uplinking with is too far to the west you may need to be positioned at a location near the south end of the track for a clean horizon. Print and Still Photography: We will get you set up in prime locations and introduce you to the track still photographer, Mike Lippincott of Envision Photographix. Mike can give you pointers on where to be positioned to get the best action shots. Please note you will not be allowed on the track surface during any green flag, due to safety concerns. Commercial power is available on a very limited basis and we would ask that you make provisions to provide for your own power. Hard line telephone access is not available. While shooting in the pit area, power is not available so be sure to bring batteries for your lights. Television outlets, if you plan on covering the racing you will be required to fly your cables, please bring supplies to accomplish this. Other then at your camera position(s), cables must not present a trip hazard to the patrons of the Speedway. We have several locations around the track that camera positions may be set up. Plan on flying several hundred feet of cable if you wish to shoot from the straight-aways. We have several locations that boom lifts may be set up providing excellent shooting positions of the track. If you require a boom lift, please contact Midknight Video Productions; we can assist in arranging for a lift and the training of your personnel in the use of the lift or provide a lift operator at your expense. There are several hotels in the immediate area should you need to arrange an overnight stay. The track has excellent concessions stand at both the pits and the General Admission Grandstands. Finally please remember Safety while at the track. You are dealing with several thousand pound cars moving at extreme speeds while on the track, and those same cars at much slower speeds while in the pits. You are responsible for watching out for them, not they for you. Make sure your personnel has adequate hearing protection if they are going to be near the track; it gets loud. If they are shooting track side, then eye protection is recommended as well, lens wipes for the eye gear and of course for your optics. We want for your team to have a great day at the track and will do everything we can to accommodate your people. Please visit the Contact Us page to make arrangements. |
